I have been a member of Dublin Fit Club for three and a half years. I initially came with a friend but she didn’t commit fully, so I decided to continue to come on my own. Dublin Fit Club is the type of club that you don’t need anyone else but yourself to get the best from your training. It is a no nonsence type of gym that helps you maximise your training to a level I never thought possible. What you put into your training you will get back tenfold from a fitness level. I am a middle aged lady and I train with all ages and sizes, we are all equal and all there for the same purpose. There is so many types of classes, exercises, times and payment types to suit all. I am almost 50 years old and I am fitter than I was in my 20s. I have battled breast cancer and the menopause and, in privacy, the two trainers Brian and PJ have done nothing but offer their support and knowledge to help me through this. Some women of my age think it’s not possible to be fit in your 50s but trust me it is. Exercise has been so important for me at this stage of my life; it’s vital for good physical and mental health. It doesn’t matter where you start, you will gain great results and really good friendships.
I’ve been training at Dublin Fit Club since January 2017 and had never done any weight training before this. When I started I had no idea where to start or what type of training would work best for me. From the start, Brian and PJ were able to show me how to do all the exercises correctly. They were able to show me where I was going wrong and how to use a proper and safe technique. I was very surprised at how quickly I progressed from being someone who had never lifted weights to being comfortable with a range of exercises. The lads were always on hand to offer their advice and expert opinion. After almost a year, I feel fitter and stronger than I’ve ever been and I’m looking forward to more training and progress.
I wanted to achieve the same goals as I did with my previous training but to mix it up, I decide to sign up to the weight training programme. When I started I had zero experience and very little knowledge of weight training, but after one week I realised neither was required because that’s what PJ and Brian were there for. Their experience and knowledge was all that was needed for me to get the most from the programme. They taught me the correct techniques, encouraged and pushed me to reach my goals and had structured a perfectly laid out training for programme for each night. Guiding me along the way, all that was required from me was to put the effort in. Each night is different so you get to work different muscle groups throughout the week, which is great, so for me it was perfect. A few weeks in I’ve seen an increase in strength, I’m lifting heavier, my technique has improved significantly and, along with adding a healthy diet to the programme, I've seen a change to my body composition. So, all around, huge positives from me, and it’s a step in the right direction for me to reach my goals. Great training – 10 out of 10!
“This is my second year coming in to do an off season plan with the lads. Last year went so well that i earned a new two year deal with QPR. So it was a no brainer coming in again.
